Erbil Zoo Project Overview

Erbil Zoo is a national and local tourism investment project in Iraq, aimed at preserving local animals, birds, plants, and herbs. The project is part of the private sector's effort to protect and care for various types of animals and rare herbs while establishing interest in nature among visitors and working on animal and plant reproduction.

Ownership

The project is owned by the Al-Tayyar Group of Companies, specifically by Hersh  Zade Al-Tayyar.

Zoo Area: The zoo covers an area of 200 acres.

Project Opening Date: The zoo was opened to the public on May 15, 2020.

Address: The zoo is located in Iraq - Erbil, Koya Road, Kasnazan Heights.

Types of Animals

The zoo boasts 200 different types of rare  animals, birds, and reptiles. Erbil Zoo has established itself as the sole center in all of Iraq for animal reproduction, following the signing of a protocol with the Ministry of Environment of the Iraqi government and a zoo in Erbil.


Erbil Zoo Sections


The zoo consists of various sections, including:

·        A protected area for animals that feed on plants (60 dunums in size).

·        A protected area for zebras (23 acres in size).

·        Bird protected area.

·        Animatronic Dinosaur Forest Hall.

·        Parking and gardens.

·        Erbil Mini Hall.

·        Five Egyptian bird towers to provide shelter for 120,000 pigeons.

·        Animal hotel.

·        Theme park with Water Park and swimming pool.

·        The largest shopping center for the sale of various types of animals and birds, along with the needs of animals and birds.

·        A hotel and a tourist motel.
